The Barwon Heads Festival of the Sea is a free
community event made possible through fundraising and the generous
support of the community and local businesses in the form of volunteering,
sponsorship and donations.
This year the Festival will run for 6 days (Tuesday 11 March –
Sunday 16 March 2008) culminating in a one-day event along the Barwon
River foreshore in Barwon Heads.

The
aims of the Festival are to: •
Promote awareness, understanding and appreciation of our coastal environment
through the provision of:
- Environmentally focused activities.
- Information stands and performances.
- Fun activities with sea / coast
/ environment theme.
• Celebrate and showcase the activities of our local music,
performance and visual artists.
• Provide opportunities for local businesses, associations,
clubs and organisations by:
- Offering local groups the opportunity
to fundraise and showcase their activities.
- Maintaining local community and
business involvement as much as is possible.

Getting here
Barwon Heads is approximately an hour and a half
from Melbourne on the Princes Highway and Barwon Heads Road.
